Financing Solution

The Cade Foundation

Shady Grove Fertility actively supports the Tinina Q. Cade Foundation. The Cade Foundation is a nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting infertility awareness and serving the needs of couples struggling with infertility by providing educational resources and financial assistance for helping them grow their families. Shady Grove Fertility has helped raise more than $600,000 for the Cade Foundation.

The foundation prides itself on three main goals:

  • To serve the community by providing education about infertility and related issues—working alone as well as in partnership with other organizations
  • To provide financial assistance through grants for families struggling with infertility who are either pursuing infertility treatment or domestic adoption
  • To raise funds that will they will use to provide grants for families pursuing fertility treatment or domestic adoption

Each year, the Cade Foundation provides grants of up to $10,000 to infertile families to assist them with the cost of infertility treatment or domestic adoption. Click here to apply for the Family Building Grant.

In addition to the main Family Building Grants, the Cade Foundation and Shady Grove Fertility have developed additional grants exclusive for SGF patients: the Dr. Stephen Greenhouse Grant and the Savannah Grant. All SGF patients who apply for a Cade Foundation Family Building Grant will automatically be considered for one of these exclusive grants.

Exclusive grants for SGF patients

In 2018, the physicians, staff, and patients of Shady Grove Fertility established the Dr. Stephen Greenhouse Grant through the Tinina Q. Cade Foundation. This grant, specifically designated for a Shady Grove Fertility patient, is held to honor the memory and legacy of Dr. Stephen Greenhouse, an SGF physician and practice leader who died in an accident in July of 2018. Among the reasons this honor is so fitting is because anyone who had the privilege of knowing Dr. Greenhouse knows how endlessly and tirelessly he devoted his life’s work to the benefit of his patients, particularly in supporting them through the challenges that come with pursuing treatment. He would happy that part of his legacy was dedicated to supporting the needs of patients with infertility long into the future. Dr. Greenhouse was a strong supporter of the Tinina Q Cade Foundation and attended many Cade Foundation events with his family over the years.

The grant will be awarded to 2 different SGF patients. Each awardee will receive one IVF cycle. The grant award cannot be used for any other services or treatment.

SGF patients will automatically be considered for the Dr. Stephen Greenhouse Grant when they apply for a Family Building Grant.

The Savannah Grant is specifically designated for a Shady Grove Fertility patient, in honor of Savannah Caroline Pereira, a SGF baby who tragically died in March 2010. All Shady Grove Fertility patients are eligible to receive the Savannah Grant.

SGF patients will automatically be considered for the Savannah Grant when they apply for a Family Building Grant.
