About the Fellowship

Responsible for the first IVF baby in the United States and the first intracytoplasmic sperm injection research, EVMS Jones Institute was founded in 1981 by the late Drs. Howard and Georgeanna Jones, who integrated science and practice as an early example of translational research.

Shady Grove Fertility Jones Institute, the new name for the Jones Institute Reproductive Endocrine Clinical Practice, opened to patients in 2021 at the Jones location on the EVMS campus in Norfolk.

Fellows at the Jones Institute benefit from balanced practice in clinical care and research, gaining expertise in treating infertility through assisted reproduction and mastering the surgical techniques needed to address disorders of the reproductive tract.

Fellows can also participate in active research programs. Areas of interest include implantation, oocyte maturation and oocyte donation, male infertility and more. Fellows work one-on-one with experienced faculty and can take advantage of the vast resources available for training.
