Biography

Catherine (Katie) Clough, CNM completed her Masters of Science in Nursing (joint Midwifery and Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner Program) at the University of Pennsylvania in 2002. She has spent the past 13 years working in a variety of roles in women’s health care treating patients throughout the reproductive spectrum. Catherine maintains Board Certification through the American Midwifery Certification Board (AMBC). She maintains licenses through the Board of Nursing in Maryland and Virginia.

Q&A

My own experience with infertility drew me to work in this field. I found that that the compassionate care that is the hallmark of midwifery practice is equally important during the preconception process as it is during pregnancy and labor. Working in reproductive medicine I can realize midwifery’s mission to be ‘with woman’ and fulfill my professional goal of humanizing and normalizing an alternate path to fertility.

I enjoy my two Boston terriers, hiking, traveling and doing crosswords.

That I have hiked large portions of the Pacific Crest Trail on backpacking trips during the summers of my youth.
