Ray Tsai, Ph.D, is a certified High-Complexity Clinical Laboratory Director (HCLD) by the American Board of Bioanalysis. 
Dr. Tsai earned his undergraduate degree in Radiological Science and Technology from National Yang-Ming University (NYMU) in Taiwan. He then continued his studies at National Cheng Kung University (NCKU) to complete his Master of Science in Biomedical Engineering. Dr. Tsai completed his Ph.D. in Biochemistry, Cellular and Molecular Biology at The University of Tennessee in Knoxville. After graduating with his Ph.D, Dr. Tsai did a postdoctoral fellowship at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, Missouri where he completed the Reproductive Sciences T32 training program.  
Dr. Tsai’s research interests include endometrial receptivity and cell division, topics which he has contributed to in publications including Reprod Sci and Biology of Reproduction. He is a member of the American Society of Reproductive Medicine (ASRM) and the American Association of Bioanalysis.  
Dr. Tsai joined Shady Grove Fertility (SGF) as an embryologist in 2013. Today, Dr. Tsai is the Lab Director for SGF Richmond and SGF Jones Institute.
